My Approach

Solving problems and delighting users requires that we research, listen, and refine constantly. We need to listen and understand the needs of customers and stakeholders alike. 

 

When something doesn't function as expected, users become frustrated. When it does, users feel at ease. Empathizing with users ensures we're approaching and improving the experience from their point of view. Where were they disappointed? Where were they frustrated or confused? What excited them or made them feel safe?​​​

Now, while the user's voice is crucial in product design, business stakeholders also play a vital role in the development and impact of your product. SEO managers need to refine content to increase organic traffic. Marketing managers need support for their latest campaign strategy. And developers need faster load times and consistent design systems.

At the end of the day, if the products we create and refine are elevating the user experience, that positively impacts everyone. We must ask crucial questions, like ... Is the marketing campaign thrilling the customer or frustrating them? Is the user able to find your website or the relevant content within? Did the page load before the user lost patience? Are users with low vision capable of consuming and interacting with your application?

Thoughtfully and intentionally involving both users and stakeholders in the development of your product ensures simple, seamless, intuitive, and delightful experiences that will grow your business. 

People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
